Kendall pots overtime winner, Kings complete rally over Trojans

Calgary, AB - After two periods, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings trailed the SAIT Trojans by a pair of goals, but they remained composed and stuck to the game plan.
The Kings scored three consecutive goals on the power play, including one in overtime, and defeated the Trojans 3-2 in the extra frame.
SAIT's Carson Welke opened the scoring at 8:22 of the first period.
With time winding down in the middle stanza, Dylan Williamson beat Kings goaltender Arik Weersink to put the home team up 2-0.
Then the Kings power play started to click.
About midway through the third period, Jacob Kendall redirected a point shot from Kyle Salaway past Trojans goalie Trevor Martin, providing the visitors a spark.
Clayton (7) scored his fourth of the season
Less than five minutes later, Hayden Clayton completed a nice passing play from Jaxon Steele and Chance Longjohn to draw even.
In four-on-four overtime, Kendall won the game with a hard wrist shot high on the blocker side. Longjohn and Ryley Smith recorded the assists.
Kendall leads the Kings with 17 points in 13 games.

The Kings went three-for-four on the power play. The Trojans couldn't score on two opportunities.
On Saturday, February 19, the third place Red Deer Polytechnic Kings (7-3-2-1) will host the fourth seed SAIT Trojans (6-5-1-1) at 7 pm.
The RDP Kings will wrap up regular season competition next weekend against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings. The top six teams will qualify for the postseason.
