Fas Gas RDP Athlete of the Week for October 3, 2022
Goalkeeper Jared St. Thomas was outstanding as the last line of defence for the third place Kings Soccer team (2-1-3) in a pair of weekend ties against the Olds College Broncos (1-1-3) and SAIT Trojans (5-0-1). He recorded a total of 17 saves in the road games.
The second-year Kinesiology Fitness and Health student played incredibly well in Olds, making nine saves and helping the Kings pick up a 1-1 tie on Saturday. For his memorable performance, Lacombe’s St. Thomas was named the Kings Player of the Game.
Against the most potent offence in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Soccer, St. Thomas shone in a 1-1 draw against the Trojans. He made eight saves and helped the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings earn an important point against the first place squad in the south.
