The Granary Kitchen RDP Athlete of the Week for December 6, 2021
Emma Letkeman had a strong weekend on the court for the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Volleyball team. The second-year setter ran an effective offence in a pair of wins over the SAIT Trojans, which extended the Queens’ undefeated streak to eight games. In Friday’s three set victory (25-15, 25-17 and 25-21), Letkeman contributed 32 assists, two digs, one kill and an ace at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
Then on Saturday, the Kinesiology Fitness and Health student was instrumental in the RDP Queens earning another sweep over the Trojans (25-16, 27-25 and 25-18). The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) 2019/2020 Women’s Volleyball South Rookie of the Year accumulated 21 assists, three kills, two service aces and a dig in Calgary. The talented student-athlete from Victoria was recognized as the Queens Player of the Game.
Entering the break, Letkeman ranks second in the league with 9.53 assists per set. The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens (8-0) sit first in the ACAC South Division with the distinct honour of not losing a single set.

RDC Athlete of the Week for Dec. 2, 2019
Setter Emma Letkeman played extremely well this past weekend, helping the Queens (10-2) win both matches against the SAIT Trojans. In only seven sets played, Emma impressively totaled 58 assists, 10 digs, seven kills, six aces, one stuff block and one block assist. She contributed 31 assists, five kills, five digs and three aces in Friday’s four set win (25-18, 23-25, 25-23 and 25-10) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. Then on Saturday, the Kinesiology General student accumulated 27 assists, five digs, three aces, two kills, one stuff block and one block assist in a three set sweep (25-16, 25-14 and 25-18) on the road. Emma was named the Queens Player-of-the-Game for her outstanding effort and contributions. The first-year has adjusted very well to competing in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and has played a significant role in the Queens’ ten consecutive match victories.
